Singles and Doubles finals (May 30, 2008)
Last year's Knockout Singles final was played on Tuesday 27 May by Elaine Newman (14) and Mark Miller (2). Elaine won +26. Mark hit a ball five times, but failed to roquet. Elaine used her bisques well, and with the first ball went from Hoop 3 to Penult without using one at all.
Congratulations to Elaine.
On Friday 30th May last year's Alternate Stroke Doubles final was played by Peter Wardle (1/2) & Elaine Newman (14) v Eunice Wharton (24) and Mark Miller (2). Eunice and Mark won +7 on time, helped by judicious use of 5 1/2 bisques.
The American Block final for 2007 was actually played in 2007. Peter Wardle beat Mark Miller +10. That completes the results for 2007; we hope to have the 2008 competitions completed this year.
